Disability Exhibition – Celebrating Diversity & Inclusion

As part of International Day of People with Disability (3 December), we will be holding an art
exhibition and opening day at One Arts Gold Coast. Featuring artworks created by people with disability from Kookaburra Arts Studio and Darcy Doyle all abilities, the art exhibition will be sponsoring prizes by Disability provider sponsors.
Jordan Khalaf
Jordan is a self-taught artist on the autism spectrum. With a meticulous eye for detail and a deep love for trams, traffic lights and urban landscapes, Jordan’s work captures everyday scenes with a unique perspective and emotional depth.

Tania Thenabadu
Sri Lankan-Australian and proud, Tania brings bold colour and cultural storytelling to every canvas. Now based on the Gold Coast, her mixed media works are rich with memory, heritage, and heart.

Helen Holmes
Spray painter by trade, Helen is originally from the Central Coast, NSW. Now residing in the Gold Coast, Helen’s artwork is sassy and has a strong love for colour and line.

Sharon McElveney
Sharon McElveney is a Sydney born, now Gold Coast artist. Inspired by the human form and faces, much of her work features eyes or a suggestion of a face. With over 30 years’ experience, Sharon’s work is complex and varied. She focuses on two main styles: organic abstract and figurative abstract.

Uliana Gardner
Born and raised in the south of Russia, Uliana experiments with different art styles with a focus on abstract realism. Her artworks often explore animals and humans intertwined against abstract backgrounds. Uliana captures fleeting moments that reveal the beauty often overlooked in everyday life.

Chad Stevens
Chad Stevens is an Australian artist whose work is rooted in his profound connection to the natural world and its delicate ecosystems. His latest exhibition, ‘Birds of a Feather’, was inspired by his commitment to the conservation of Australia’s unique wildlife and the ecosystems they inhabit.

Susan Tilgner
Susan is an Australian artist based on the Gold Coast, Queensland. She is greatly inspired by nature and the rich and diverse natural landscapes. Susan exhibited at One Arts Gold Coast in the ‘Birds of a Feather’ exhibition.

Nicole Slattery
Working primarily with oils, Nicole enjoys working with the vibrant colours and rich textures. This choice in medium allows her to bring her landscapes to life with a striking realism. Her paintings pay homage to the extraordinary beauty and diversity of the Australian landscape, transporting viewers into the immersive experience of her family’s travels.

We acknowledge and pay respects to the people of the Yugambeh language region of the Gold Coast and all their descendants both past and present. We also acknowledge the many Aboriginal people from other regions as well as Torres Strait and South Sea Islander people who now live in the local area and have made an important contribution to the community.
