One Arts Gold Coast hosts a monthly Artist in Residence program designed to support emerging and mid-career artists by providing professional exhibition opportunities, mentorship, and community engagement.

Whether you’re preparing for your first solo exhibition or looking to expand your artistic profile, our Artist in Residence program offers the support, exposure, and experience to help you grow your creative practice.

How it works

Each month, One Arts Gold Coast selects an artist (or group of artists) to present a month-long exhibition in our gallery. As part of the residency, artists have the opportunity to professionally exhibit their work, connect with the local community, and, if desired, present workshops during their residency.

Solo and group exhibitions are welcome. For group applications, one person must be nominated as the primary contact and assume responsibility for all agreements and correspondence.

Our Artist in Residence program has helped many emerging and established artists gain valuable exhibition experience, increase their profile, develop new audiences, and build lasting connections within the local arts community.

Many of our previous Artists in Residence have gone on to exhibit regularly, grow their artistic practice, and establish more sustainable creative careers.

How to apply

To apply for the One Arts Gold Coast Artist in Residence program, please download and complete the Artist in Residence Application below.

Your application should include:

• Artist Biography

• Artist Statement outlining your practice or proposed exhibition

• Two JPEG images of your proposed artwork

Successful applicants will be notified by email. Full details regarding membership, exhibition fees, deposits, exhibition requirements, workshop opportunities, and exhibition conditions are outlined in the Artist in Residence Application.
